🚨🔥 URGENT REQUEST🔥 🚨
We are quickly approaching our first major heatwave of 2025. The feels-like temperatures will be WELL into the triple digits from Sunday until at least Thursday. This heat can and will be DEADLY. We are running LOW on funds and donations and are STRUGGLING to keep out neighbor’s needs met. We are asking for donations to keep our neighbors alive and cool as this heat dome lingers over us next week. If you are politically active but havent given money to or volunteered for aid projects now is your time. Don’t have time to volunteer or physically purchase supplies? We have a virtual wishlist. If you can’t donate PLEASE share this with anyone you know who can help. Post it in your neighborhood groups, send it to your aunt, anything. THIS HEAT WILL BE DEADLY. Important Announcement:

In an effort to divest from Meta, from here on out RMA WILL NO LONGER BE ACTIVE ON FACEBOOK. We will leave our page visible as an archive, and we will periodically check for messages for a couple more weeks.

However, we will no longer be posting on Facebook in any capacity and we may not be able to respond at all via Messenger past the transition period. We will continue using Instagram a little while longer, but it is our intention to eventually leave that platform as well and focus efforts on in-person organizing. We encourage others to consider doing the same!

We’ve updated our donation wishlist for Spring and would love your support in sourcing supplies for distro. Notably, our unhoused neighbors are in need of rain gear, first aid kits and travel-sized toiletries, and bags to keep their belongings clean and dry. Don’t Just Do Nothing: 20 Things You Can Do To Counter Fascism (Yes You; Yes Now!)

Y’all might have encountered us distributing this zine and others, as we will continue to do, amongst many other forms of action mentioned in this very zine. Don’t get complacent, don’t think that you’ll be saved because we’re already doing something. We need all hands on deck til we’re all free, so don’t just do nothing!

And on that note, another thing you can do right now is SHARE the last slide or donate to two of our most prolific members. This particular trans couple spends many hours each week organizing for RMA and advocating for Roanoke’s most marginalized, the least we can do to thank them is boost their request during a time of grief & struggle. And wear a mask. 😷

A glimpse of the items we've been re-distributing to folks each week since early January; what is pictured is only a small fraction of everything we have shared. ❤Shoutout to for opening their space to us, for sharing coffee and hot water, for assisting us with funding, for an assortment of harm reduction supplies, for 40 wool blankets, and the dozens of our friends, neighbors, and comrades who have redistributed their excess resources, wealth, time and energy. Never forget that supporting our community through direct action empowers all of us to resist fascism.

We're still accepting and distributing supplies as often as they come in, so check out our wishlist and share it too! We could easily spend $500+ on food and gear each time we distribute and folks can always use more than what we have. Especially with yet another winter storm coming in this week...

Parasite is five years old this year?! Don’t know about y’all, but we’re due for a re-watch. Or if you still haven’t seen it yet, trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

The revolution will not be all work and no fun, so get cozy, grab some popcorn and come hang out with us next Saturday night. This virtual social event is perfectly catered to introverts, film nerds, covid conscious baddies, disillusioned wage laborers, people who are mad about the Roanoke subreddit banning political posts, and transgender people in general.

We’ll be starting off in a Jitsi meeting at 6:30pm with social minute while we settle in, starting the movie at 7, and having a few minutes of post-movie discussion afterwards. Feel free to skip the social time and just tune in for the movie if you’re shy. Link to our Jitsi room will be posted shortly before 6:30 on the day of.
