Reminder to everyone that is on Medicare or gets health insurance from the marketplace....Make sure to work with a reputable agent that will take the time to ensure your policy will include YOUR doctors and other medical preferences. A lot of the calls people receive, are salespeople that just want to get you in a policy so they can get the commission, and they really don't care how you are covered. If you have questions reach out to someone that understands your local coverage area and who covers it.

Many of us have a life insurance policy with our employers. It wasn't until I understood more about how life insurance works that I learned that just using the work policy may not be the best option. Work life insurance only covers you only for a specified period of time. This generally means that if you leave your job, your life insurance coverage ends. Purchasing your own permanent life insurance policy (such as IUL) can help provide financial reassurance over the long term, even if you switch jobs. In addition, if you are in your job for let say, 10 years, and then you pursue getting your own policy, the rate will be based off the age you are when you apply. This can make a big difference in the cost of premiums vs getting your own policy when you are at the younger age.
My personal example is when I started at my last employer I had to pay for the option of life insurance through payroll deduction. Looking back on this, I could have purchased my own policy when I started for just a few dollars more and 10 years later when I left the company my rates would still be based on my age 10yrs ago. Now today I have to get a policy, and the premiums are designed for my age now.

Good morning everyone and I hope you all are enjoying the summer.
