General information
Each member will contribute a minimum of $1,100 ($1,000 will go towards the grant award, $100 will be applied to administrative cost for The Community Foundation to manage the giving circle). Each member will have one vote in the grant selection process. Several members will be asked to serve on the grant selection committee. Members are asked to attend an annual business meeting event to announce the grant recipient. Here are the two ways you can make you $1,100 contribution Via Mail to: Ujima Legacy Fund c/o The Community Foundation 7501 Boulders View Drive #110 Richmond, VA 23225 Contribute online at: www.tcfrichmond.org/ujima This will take them to the TCF online giving page and the Ujima Legacy Fund will already be selected. Please note there is a 3% credit card fee that gets taken from any gift made online. GRANT PRIORITIES Ujima Legacy Fund seeks to support 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Metro Richmond that empower youth through education related initiatives. Education related initiatives include but are not limited to: Afterschool/out of school time programming; Career development; College preparation; Entrepreneurship; Financial Literacy; Literacy; Mentoring; Technology training; Tutoring. Funds may also be used for capacity building efforts of nonprofits that provide these services. Proposal deadline is FRIDAY MARCH 7, 2014. The grant recipient will be selected by a vote of the Ujima Legacy Fund membership, after a detailed process of reviewing the grant proposals that are received.
