The hardest boundaries to set aren't against the bad things—they are against the good things.
We often feel a deep sense of guilt when we decline a good opportunity, a noble request, or a chance to help. We convince ourselves that because it is a "good" thing, we should automatically have the capacity to take it on.
But adding one more good thing to an already overflowing plate doesn't multiply your impact; it just fractures your peace. Stable stewardship requires you to recognize your human limits. Saying 'no' isn't a failure, a lack of compassion, or a missed opportunity—it is the faithful decision required to protect your energy for the 'yes' that truly matters in your season right now.
If you struggle with the guilt of setting limits, my new book, How to Help Them Without Losing Yourself, provides a practical, faith-based framework to help you find the language for your boundaries.
If you are looking for a safe space to practice setting these boundaries without judgment, our peer-led community is here to validate your journey and cheer you on.
