Adult Report Card
Many moons ago I was a high school student with average grades. At the time I didn't care because I was mainly interested in sports and girls. Back then you'd have to ask me about my grades. I wouldn't volunteer that information.
Years had passed, and I'm struggling financially like always. My white F150 engine blew up. I scrambled up the last of my savings. Twenty five hundred to be exact, and replaced the engine. Three weeks later the transmission went out. Couldn't afford that so I was forced to sell the truck.
I created a craigslist ad labeled Mechanics Special and agreed to sell it for 1500. On the way there the car completely shut down. I called a tow and the buyer seeing it removed from the tow truck changed his offer. 800 bucks. Damn. I needed it. Left there to a car dealership hoping I could walk out with something. Not a chance. They wanted 4k down on a Honda Civic. My credit score was 578.
I was referred to a credit repair guy who like a charming lawyer talked great but did nothing. Six months in, nothing had changed. I felt helpless. As a man with kids I had to provide. And so I took action. I studied everything credit. Read https://ficoforums.myfico.com/. Asked questions. I became the student I never was in high school. In time I fixed my own credit. Afterwards I fixed my brothers credit. Then most of my friends. Over the years it has become my passion.
I know what having bad credit feels like. I know that its sometimes easier not deal with it. Feels better that way. I also know that having good credit can change your life. It'll definitely save you money. Also give you a safety net. But what if I mess up my credit again? What if you never fix it? As an adult we're still being graded. The Adult Report Card is our credit score.
You can definitely fix your own credit. Alternatively if you want professional help we can setup a call
