Hey everyone, if you have friends or family reviewing their Medicare Plans this AEP (which EVERYONE SHOULD), encourage them to connect with a trusted agent or service. Each year people get scammed or moved to a plan that does not serve them well in their area. Be cautious and aware of who you’re trusting with your healthcare options.

Medicare Open Enrollment Alert:

During Medicare Open Enrollment, fake websites and scams can appear to trick people into giving personal or financial information. These sites often look like actual Medicare or insurance websites, so it’s essential to stay alert!

Protect Yourself:
Look for sites ending in “.gov” instead of “.com” or “.net.”

Check for the lock icon in your browser’s address bar.

Make sure URLs start with “https://” (not “http://”).

Avoid pop-up forms—Medicare won’t ask for your information this way.

If you think your information may have been compromised, contact your local Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) at 1-800-860-5260 for help. SMP offers free support to protect you from Medicare fraud and scams.

Is Medicare Advantage or a Medicare Supplement better?

At almost every initial meeting I hold with clients I am asked this question.

The answer is always the same. It depends.

The key to figuring out which one is best for you is knowing what you want out of your benefits and how you want to be served.

There is no single best solution that fits everyone. Some people fit better in a Medicare Supplement plan while others fit better in a Medicare Advantage plan.
