As part of my message tomorrow, I am reminding our people of why Rome fell, and applying it to our own country. I would like to share them with you.
1.The rapid increase of divorce, with the undermining of the sanctity of the home, which is the basis of society.
2.Higher and higher taxes, and the spending of public money on bread and circuses.
3.The mad craze for pleasure, sports becoming every year more exciting and brutal.
4.The building of gigantic armies to fight external enemies when the most deadly enemy, the decadence of the people, lay within.
5.The decay of religion, faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life, and becoming powerless to guide it.
Sound familiar? Pray with me and work for true revival, our greatest need! (Psalm 85)

I spoke today from James 5:19-20. How it is possible to wander or stray from the truth as it is in Christ. Many throughout history have done this, and in our time the reports are that many are doing so, especially among young people.
There are many reasons for this; today I gave 5 and I am sure there are more. But what’s important is found in v.19. “…someone should bring him back.” And in v.20 “Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”
Will you be one of those who do? Will I? I pray so, for a soul is the most precious thing in this world!

I am preaching tomorrow from Luke 24:32. “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining (interpreting) the Scriptures to us?”
The Resurrection produced many reactions (doubt, fear, faith, commitment etc.) But for those of us who truly believe, shouldn’t we have this burning heart? To witness, to preach, to evangelize, to worship?
Dear God, PLEASE set our hearts on fire! May we be part of the Fellowship of the Burning Heart!

I had planned a big Mother’s Day with my mom. Unfortunately she had a fall and has been in the ER. She broke no bones and will probably be sent home. Could you say a prayer for her?

We had the funeral service for “Lovely Rita” (Rita McCoy-Rodriguez) yesterday. She was a lovely saint and will be terribly missed. May the good Lord bless and keep her family!
