Retirement planning isn't just about how much you've saved. It's also about creating a strategy that can help support your lifestyle throughout retirement.

Research from the LIMRA Retirement Income Institute found that many Gen X women face unique retirement challenges, including lower retirement savings, caregiving responsibilities, and concerns about whether their money will last throughout retirement.

Understanding these factors early can help you make more informed decisions about your future. If you’d like to build a retirement strategy, let’s connect to review your long-term goals, expected expenses, and retirement income needs.

Why Prince George?

Clients sometimes ask me, “Why do you have an office in Prince George?”

For me, the answer is pretty simple: community matters.

And I don’t just mean when it comes to running a business. Community is part of nearly everything that matters—your faith walk, raising a family, playing sports, building friendships, helping your neighbors, and having friends and family around to love you (and occasionally tick you off).

We need each other. And today was a great reminder of what can happen when people in a community look out for one another.

I’d like you to meet Katie.

If you’ve spent much time at Circle D in Prince George, there’s a good chance you’ve met her. Katie is one of those people who always seems to have a pleasant face and a kind personality, regardless of what may be going on in her own life. She works extremely hard—multiple jobs and as many hours as she can—to keep up with her bills and, most importantly, spend time with her grandson.

Yesterday, as Katie was leaving work, the motor in her car blew.

Just like that, she was without reliable transportation to get to work, handle everyday life, or go see her grandson.

Karen told me what had happened, and this morning I called my good friend Mark Mueller, owner of M B Motors in Prince George County, to see if there was anything he could do to help me find Katie a dependable vehicle.

Seven hours later, Katie had a new-to-her car—with a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.

And she didn’t have to pay a dime for it.

Poirier Financial Strategies and M B Motors came together to provide the vehicle to Katie at no cost.

I’m sharing this story not for recognition, but because I think it answers that question better than I ever could:

“Why do you have an office in Prince George?”

This is the “why”.

Because being part of a community means more than having an office there. It means knowing people, building relationships, looking out for one another, and stepping up when you have an opportunity to make someone’s day—or maybe even their life—a little better.

Businesses supporting people. Neighbors helping neighbors. Friends picking up the phone for friends.

That’s community.

And I’m proud that Poirier Financial Strategies gets to be a small part of this one.
