Debbie Martin Fitness I'm a Registered Nurse with over 25 years experience and I've become very alarmed by the rapid rise in obesity and chronic illness. I refuse to believe that!

Do you have a family history of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, or dementia? Have you ever thought that chronic illness was your destiny due to that history? I've see the impact that these chronic illnesses have on a daily basis, in my own family and with the patients I work with. I know there's a better way. We've been lied to! Despite all the regulations and recommendations from the FDA

since 1960, we have seen a rise in obesity and chronic illness. How do you picture your future? Does spending all your time, money and energy managing chronic illnesses sound like fun to you? What you do TODAY matters! We're all working hard now to prepare for our financial future and it's just as important that we care for our bodies NOW so that we can enjoy that future!

Making healthy food choices is just part of the equation. Just because it's healthy doesn't mean you can eat as much as you want! This is probably enough food for three meals! Ask for a To-Go-Box, leave a single serving on your plate and pack the rest away so you're not tempted to over do it!

I don't snack often 'cause snacking leads to weight gain! If you're hungry between meals you might not be esting enough fat. Good healthy fats leave you feeling fuller longer and knock those carb cravings right out. Easy does it though! 1/4C cashews = 8 carbs and a good dose of healthy fat and protein.
