Have you gotten a letter from Social Security informing you of a visit from IRMAA? It stands for Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount and hits both Part B and D of Medicare. No one enjoys the visit. My client called me today to let me know the forms I helped him with are likely going to eliminate IRMAA for both him and his wife. Saving money is something everyone enjoys and I love helping people do it.

CMS announced that the premium for Part B is going DOWN for 2023 to $164.90. The Part B deductible is also going DOWN to $226. This is great news since it jumped a higher than expected percentage in 2022. Great news!!

PSA: If you or anyone you know gets a call from "Medicare" or "Medicare Providers" asking you if you have received your NEW plastic Medicard card to replace the paper one....it is a SCAM. I just had a little fun with someone calling for my step dad regarding HIS Medicare card. There is NO new card and NEVER give anyone your Medicare number or any personal info over the phone. I kept him on the phone on purpose to rattle him with questions. I saved his number from my phone, called it back and it is no longer in service. Protect yourself and your loved ones from scammers and predators. There are many out there.

One important thing to know about Medicare Part B and Part D is there are basically 2 zones. A Safe Zone and a Penalty Zone. If you happen to enter the penalty zone, you remain there for all of your time on Medicare. I wrote a client yesterday with no drug plan and let him know he now has coverage and help...but they will hit him with a small penalty. STILL better than no coverage...meds can be expensive. Some get upset about this...I do not make the rules but I will help people understand them!

On January 1, 2022 Nevada law changes regarding Medicare supplements. On the first day of your birth month (and for 60 days), you'll be eligible to change supplement companies with NO health underwriting. The plan must be equal or lesser in benefits. This will be great for those stuck in plans where their premiums are going up at higher than ideal percentage amounts. Talk to me about the new "birthday rule."

I've heard many people tell me how crazy the advertisements and calls are this year. It's overwhelming. I'm honored when I get referrals after someone has asked their friends, "Whom do you trust?" That's KEY!! Don't be rushed or pressured into a plan. The biggest compliment is a referral from someone that TRUSTS you. Anyone can show you books. I'm signing up 2 people this morning who called me. What a privilege to help people!!!

We're in AEP! Medicare Advantage Plans and Prescription Drug Plans change every year. It's good to review and make a change if you see something with richer benefits. You have until December 7! Happy Sunday.
