Full coverage isn't a real thing.
I know, I know. Every commercial on TV says it. Your buddy says he has it. Your loan company required it. But "full coverage" doesn't exist in any policy, any state, anywhere.
Here's what's actually happening: when people say "full coverage," they usually mean liability + comprehensive + collision. That's it. Three coverages, not some magic force field around your car.
It doesn't cover:
Your medical bills (that's a separate coverage).
A rental car while yours is in the shop (add-on).
Hitting a pothole and blowing two tires (depends on the policy — ask).
The full value of your brand new car after a total loss (unless you added gap coverage).
"Full coverage" is a sales phrase, not a coverage. It got you to say yes faster. It didn't get you protected better.
The fix is boring but it works: sit down once a year and go coverage by coverage. What do you actually have. What are you actually missing. Takes fifteen minutes.
Drop a comment or send me a message and I'll walk through your policy with you — no cost, no pressure, just so you know what you're actually paying for.
