Today, I'm busy meeting with each of my clients individually, doing plan reviews and making changes for 2027, and I love what I do! 💙 I have a lot of follow-ups this AEP, and I'm working until 9 PM, 7 days a week, so I can go over your Medicare options with you together.

And no, you do not need to make a Medicare decision today. You have until December 7 to review your coverage and make changes for 2027, if a change makes sense for you.

So instead of rushing because the commercials, mail and phone calls suddenly got louder, start here:

The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 – December 7. This is the time to review your plan changes and make updates to your coverage for 2027, if needed, and I would love to speak with you individually to help.

Customer service is very important to me, and that is why I have my assistant, Celine, here at Senior Select Plans. She answers your calls, gets you scheduled, and helps with any service questions about billing, claims and more, so you always have a friendly voice on the other end of the line.

⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR OHIO CIGNA MEDICARE ADVANTAGE MEMBERS

Do you receive care through Cleveland Clinic? Please take a moment to read this important network update.

According to the notice received, **Cleveland Clinic Foundation is scheduled to leave the Medicare Advantage network in Ohio effective December 31, 2026.**

This change includes Cleveland Clinic Foundation hospitals, ancillary services, provider groups, and its clinically integrated network.

📌 **What should you do?**
- Review your current Medicare Advantage plan and provider network.
- Check how this change may affect your doctors and healthcare facilities.
- Explore your options before making any decisions about your coverage.

🏥 Did you know you can add hospitalization coverage alongside your Medicare plan? Ask me how!

You might have a benefit sitting in your cancer policy, even if you DON’T have cancer. 🎃

There are plenty of things that belong in an October horror story. Paying for an insurance benefit for years and never realizing you could use it is one of them. 👻

Here’s something you might not know about your cancer policy: some policies include a wellness or cancer screening benefit that pays you a set amount for completing certain eligible preventive screenings. Depending on your policy, that could include mammograms, colonoscopies, Pap smears, PSA tests, or certain blood tests.

And here comes the plot twist: you may have to file a claim to get it.

That means you could get the screening, check it off your list, and go about your life without ever realizing there was a benefit inside the policy you’ve been paying for. Now THAT is scary.

So before October is over, pull out your cancer policy and do a little investigating:

🔎 Look for the words “wellness benefit,” “health screening benefit,” or “cancer screening benefit.”
🔎 Find out what qualifies and how often the benefit is available.
🔎 Check how much your policy pays and whether you need to submit a claim.

Your insurance policy should not contain mystery benefits you discover five years later.

My calendar is fully booked every day for plan reviews!

I've started reviewing each client's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) to see if you can stay on your plan next year or if changes are needed.

Same plan. Different year. 🔄
And those two things don't always mean the same coverage.

Medicare Advantage and Part D plans can make changes from one year to the next, including costs, benefits, drug coverage, pharmacy networks, and provider networks. 💊🏥

That's why "I like the plan I have" isn't where I stop during a review.

The better question is: Will I still like it next year?

A few minutes spent looking at what's changing can save you from surprises later. ✅

Your Prescription List Needs a Fall Update 🍂

When was the last time you actually updated your medication list?

Not just added the new prescription.
Actually cleaned it up. 👀

Take five minutes this fall and make sure it includes:
💊 What you currently take
💊 The correct dosage
💊 How often you take it
💊 Anything you've stopped taking

Then save the updated version somewhere easy to find.

It's useful for your Medicare review, sure. But it's also a pretty handy thing to have when a doctor's office asks, "Can you tell me what medications you're currently taking?" and your brain suddenly forgets everything you've ever known.

To review your plan this year, I also need your current medications as well as your doctors. These are important things to check so we can make sure they're covered by the plan I recommend.

Things about Medicare that sound scary... but usually just need an explanation.

Medicare has a special talent for making perfectly normal things sound mildly terrifying. Especially this time of year.

You open your mail and see "Notice of Change." 📬
You hear your plan is changing for next year.
You notice your prescription cost looks different. 💊
Or you hear someone say, "My plan is WAY better than yours."

And suddenly it feels like you should be worried.

But here's what I want you to know: different doesn't automatically mean bad, and a change doesn't automatically mean you need to switch plans. ✅

Your Annual Notice of Change tells you what's changing with your current Medicare Advantage or Part D plan for the coming year. The next step is figuring out whether any of those changes actually matter for you:

💊 Your prescriptions
👩‍⚕️ Your doctors and specialists
🏪 Your preferred pharmacy
💵 Your costs
✈️ Even where you spend your time or how often you travel

That's why I'd rather you bring me the thing that looks scary than sit at home worrying about what it might mean. Sometimes there's something we need to look at. And sometimes you just need someone to say, "Here's what that actually means."
