A lot of financial planning goes into buying and owning a home. It is important to be prepared for a few key things:
1) Up front costs: down payment, escrows, agent fees, etc
2) Monthly expenses
3) Home upkeep costs: maintenance and repairs
4) Tax implications: property taxes, deductible taxes, etc.

The average mortgage rate dropped this week in response to data from ADP that suggests the Fed will likely cut the Fed Funds Rate at their meeting next week. Today's PCE data adds more fuel to this expectation. We are currently near a one-year low for mortgage rates.
