Part of Scouting is volunteering within the community. Today 8 members of Troop 56 provided 42 hours of service helping the Saint Peter Parish - West Brandywine, PA work crew at Good Works, Inc. to help a family in need make their home warmer, safer, and drier.

Our task was to put a brick paver walkway around new stairs and regrade around the house to help keep water out of the basement. Chester County Council, Scouting America

We’re going over kayaking skills (as much as possible on land) toget ready for our kayaking/camping trip in September.
Parts of the kayak, paddle, float plan, life jackets, paddling game, and then since we had the solo cups out we did the stacking game…. 12 high was the record.Chester County Council, Scouting America Saint Peter Parish - West Brandywine, PA

No meeting this Thursday…..
8 Scouts and 2 leaders from Troop 56 are part of the 100 Scouts from Chester County Council who are at the National Scout Jamboree in WV. Attached are pictures of some of the fun we are having. Chester County Council, Scouting America

Please congratulate Mrs. Eversmyer on “Keeping her Vigil” on Friday night with 3 other members of Octoraro Lodge 22.

Vigil is the highest level of the Order of the Arrow that very few obtain. It is based on others observing your dedication to Scouting.

Mrs. Eversmyer was the Advancement Coordinator for 56 when her son was in our troop and is currently Scoutmaster of 611G.

First meeting after summer camp is always a simple easy meeting…. The scouts just played soccer and talked.

No meetings for the next 2 weeks because 8 Scouts and 2 leaders from 56 will be among the 15,000+ Scouters (100 from Chester County Council) who will be attending the National Scout Jamboree in WV for 10 days.
