At Kustom, we see firsthand how quickly fire damage can change lives. That’s why we encourage everyone to take just 10 minutes to complete a Home Fire Risk Reset

Simple steps that can make a powerful difference.

✔️ Test smoke alarms
Replace batteries or units that don’t sound.
✔️ Create a 3-foot safety zone
Keep heaters and cooking areas clear of anything flammable.
✔️ Set a cooking rule
If the stove is on, someone stays in the kitchen.
✔️ Use space heaters safely
Always plug them directly into a wall outlet never extension cords.
✔️ Practice a home escape plan
Know two ways out of every room and choose a safe meeting place outside.

No visible flames. No obvious standing water or burst pipes. Yet this unit required a full gut and rebuild.

The culprit?...

Smoke damage.

While fire gets most of the attention, it’s often the invisible smoke that causes the most destruction. Smoke doesn’t stop at the surface it penetrates deep into walls, insulation, and building materials, leaving behind odor and contaminants that can’t simply be painted over or cleaned away. Because the smoke traveled throughout the structure, a full gut was necessary to properly remediate the odor and restore the space the right way.

Check out this beautiful kitchen our PD just completed today! We installed new cabinets, replaced the quartz countertop with a granite countertop and matching backsplash, upgraded the vent hood system, and added all brand-new flooring. Incredible dedication to detail went into restoring this kitchen to its natural state, just better. 🏡🍽️
