What’s changing at the former Kelley Smith Elementary site, and what will it mean for traffic?

Palatka Primary School is scheduled to open in August 2027, serving kindergarten through second grade.

For those who live nearby or travel Kelley Smith School Road, pickup and drop-off traffic is an important part of the conversation.

According to the project details shared with me, the planned parent pickup and drop-off loop will hold over 200 vehicles on campus. How traffic moves on surrounding roads will depend on the final arrival and dismissal procedures and how the new pattern operates once school opens.

This video shares the planned changes so locals know what’s ahead. As construction progresses, final traffic directions and school updates will be important to follow.
