We recently had the privilege of delivering a Member Experience to one of our valued members, Mrs. McMahon, who has been with us for 27 years and has always been a pleasure to assist.

After recently relocating from Simi Valley to Camarillo to be closer to her children and grandchildren, she shared that the hardest part of the move was leaving behind her favorite grocery store, Stater Bros. Over the years, she had built strong relationships with many of the employees there. Although she now relies on grocery delivery and pays a little extra for the service, she continues to shop with Stater Bros.

As a small token of appreciation for her loyalty and kindness, we paid Mrs. McMahon a visit and surprised her with flowers and a Stater Bros. gift card.

When we stopped by Stater Bros. to purchase the gift card, the employees were touched by the story and immediately knew who we were shopping for. They spoke fondly of her and generously provided a few additional items for us to include in her Member Experience. It was a wonderful reminder of the meaningful relationships our members build within their communities and the lasting impact they have on those around them.

The Simi Valley Branch recently put together a micro member experience for our longtime member, Rosa Pernicone.

The Pernicone family recently welcomed a new puppy, Sophie, and we couldn’t let that special moment pass without a little celebration! The team put together a small welcome surprise, and Sophie was more than ready to dive in and enjoy the new toys.

June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, a reminder that protecting older adults requires
awareness, action, and year-round support.

Elder abuse can take many forms, including financial exploitation. And as scams become more
sophisticated, protecting members and their loved ones means looking beyond
traditional fraud detection. That’s one of the reasons we partner with Carefull.

Together, we’re helping provide an added layer of financial safety for older adults and the people
who care about them, helping spot signs of scams, fraud, and unusual financial activity earlier.
Because protecting financial wellbeing is part of protecting independence, dignity, and trust.
