46% of Americans say it’s difficult for them to pay the out-of-pocket costs for medical care not covered by their insurance, according to an October 2021 poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Too often medical bills are the direct cause of personal bankruptcy. In fact, 66% of person bankruptcies are due to medical bills (Source: American Journal of Public Health), and 39% of those who have issues with medical bill payments already have insurance. (Source: Best Credit Cards)....
The 39% with insurance are potentially facing maximum out of pockets of $8,700 for an individual and $17,400 for families in 2022. Can you imagine what the medical bills must look like for the other 27% who are UNINSURED? Either way...having no health insurance or poor health coverage, can lead you to surprise medical bills that could have been easily avoided.
