Hope everyone is doing okay after the recent storms. đź’—

If your home or property was damaged, I know the first few steps can feel overwhelming. Here’s what I’d recommend:

✔️ Take care of yourself first. If there are downed lines, standing water, structural damage, or anything else that doesn’t feel safe, stay out and call for help.

✔️ When it’s safe, take plenty of photos and videos. Wide shots and close-ups can both be helpful when it’s time to file a claim.

✔️ Do what you can to keep damage from getting worse—like putting a tarp over a damaged roof—but only if it’s safe. Hold on to receipts for any temporary repairs.

✔️ Give me a call. I can help you think through next steps and work with your insurance carrier along the way.

And if you’re not currently a client, that’s okay—please still reach out if you have questions. I’m happy to be a resource however I can. 🤝

Before your kids head out the door, make sure they know how to get to school safely, no matter how they are getting there. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

🔵Walking to school? Stick to sidewalks, cross only at crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the street, and always walk in a group when possible.

🔵Riding a bike? A properly fitted helmet is non-negotiable. Remind students to ride on the right side of the road with traffic, come to a complete stop before crossing, and choose a route with minimal intersections and light traffic.

🔵Taking the bus? Students should stand at least 6 feet back from the curb when waiting for a bus, wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before boarding, and never walk behind or in front of a bus without making eye contact with the driver first.

🔵Getting dropped off? If you drive your child to school, obey school zone speed limits, follow your school's drop-off procedure, and never pass a bus that is loading or unloading children.

🔵Teen drivers? Review the basics of safe driving. This includes, but is not limited to, having all passengers wear seatbelts, putting devices away while driving, and driving the speed limit.

We hope you find these tips helpful as students transition back to school. As always, if you have any needs or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our team. We are happy to help.

Every jobsite reflects hard work and major investment, and protecting that progress is just as important as building it. Construction equipment theft costs the industry over $1 billion annually, and only about 25% of stolen equipment is recovered. With theft and vandalism on the rise, smart site security can help prevent delays and costly setbacks.

Swipe through for practical ways to help safeguard your project.

Taking steps to protect your jobsites can help reduce your likelihood of theft, but it cannot reduce the risk outright. That’s why having dedicated construction insurance is key. Our team is here to help make sure your operation is fully protected. Give us a call anytime.

Following the recent spate of severe weather, I hope all of you are safe and sound đź’—

If your property sustained damage, know that I’m here to help. Here are a few initial steps to take:

✔️ Prioritize safety - Leave the property if there are immediate hazards or risks. Do not attempt to survey the damage yourself if it is not safe to do so.

✔️ Document the damage - If it’s safe to do so, take photos or videos of the damage, capturing wide-angle shots and close-ups as evidence for any claims.

✔️ Mitigate further damage - Again – if safe – take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage, such as covering a damaged roof with a tarp. Keep receipts for temporary repairs.

✔️ Give me a call - I can offer clients tailored advice and help facilitate communication with the insurance carrier.

If you have insurance questions or other needs post-storm, don’t hesitate to reach out. Even if you’re not a client, I’m happy to help however I can 🤝
