TESLA MODEL Y IS THE MOST SOLD VEHICLE IN US

In the U.S., Tesla sold more electric vehicles in August than Chevrolet, Ford, Hyundai, and Honda combined. The company moved about 55,000 cars in the US, far outpacing its nearest rivals.⁠

But the bigger story is shifting market share. Tesla now controls 38% of EV sales, down from around 80% five years ago, while competitors have doubled their share to nearly 30% in just a month.⁠

Overall EV sales hit record highs in August, fueled by buyers rushing to claim the $7,500 federal tax credit before it expires at the end of September. Tesla is still set for a strong quarter, though sales may cool after the credit ends.⁠

Elon Musk lo vuelve a hacer: Tesla y Samsung sellaron una alianza estratégica para fabricar el chip AI6, la próxima joya de la inteligencia artificial que impulsará los autos eléctricos de la marca.

La producción se llevará a cabo en la nueva planta de Samsung en Taylor, Texas, una inversión de 16.500 millones de dólares que marcará un antes y un después en la industria de los semiconductores.

Actualmente, Samsung produce el chip AI4 para Tesla, mientras que TSMC fabricará el AI5. Pero con el AI6, Musk asegura que la “importancia estratégica no puede subestimarse”. La fábrica comenzará operaciones en 2026 y el acuerdo se extenderá hasta 2033.

TESLA SET TO EXPAND ROBOTAXI ZONE IN TEXAS

Tesla is preparing to expand its Robotaxi service zone in Austin once again, building on recent updates that have already broadened the operational area and drawn competitive responses from rivals like Waymo.

This latest expansion comes shortly after Tesla's July 19, 2025, update, which extended the invite-only service across a larger portion of the Austin metropolitan area, with the new map humorously resembling an upside-down Tesla logo according to the company.

The move aims to cover more neighborhoods, reduce wait times, and accommodate additional users, while incorporating software enhancements like improved pickup accuracy based on users' phone locations for a more seamless experience.

Amidst this, Waymo has countered by more than doubling its own Austin service area to 90 square miles, emphasizing its fully autonomous, 24/7 operations without in-vehicle supervisors, in contrast to Tesla's current limitations including restricted hours and the need for safety monitors.

TESLA GOING TO OPEN FIRST INDIA SHOWROOM

Tesla is set to launch its first showroom in India on July 15 at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, marking its official entry into the world’s third-largest car market.

Despite CEO Elon Musk’s concerns over India’s high import duties, Tesla has imported vehicles, Superchargers, and accessories worth nearly $1 million, mainly from China and the U.S.

The initial imports include Model Y units and charging infrastructure. While India has encouraged Tesla to build EVs locally, the company currently has no plans for domestic manufacturing. Tesla has also begun hiring staff for sales, service, and autopilot roles in India.
