Paying $2,500 a month in rent adds up to $90,000 in three years.
That does not mean buying a home is automatically the right decision.
But if you have been wondering whether homeownership could make sense for you, I think it is worth actually looking at the numbers.
I’m Joanna Perry with The Loan Lady Club, a mortgage broker and homebuyer educator based in Citrus Heights and serving homebuyers throughout the Sacramento area and California.
When I work with a buyer, we do not start with, “How much house can you qualify for?”
We start with, “What payment actually feels comfortable for you?”
Then we look at the bigger picture.
What do you want your monthly housing payment to look like?
How much money do you feel comfortable investing into the purchase?
What loan programs may fit your situation?
What will your complete monthly payment include?
And how much money would you realistically need to get all the way through closing?
I want you to understand those numbers before you are standing in a house you love trying to decide what to offer.
The video behind this post is another part of the job I really love. I’m delivering a Homes for Heroes reward check to one of my clients after their home purchase.
For eligible teachers, healthcare professionals, firefighters, law enforcement professionals, EMS professionals, and military members, Homes for Heroes may provide additional savings when buying or selling a home.
Buying a home is a big financial decision. My job is to help you understand the financing, the strategy, and the process so you can decide what makes sense for you.
If you are thinking about buying a home in Citrus Heights, Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom, Elk Grove, or another California community, DM me “BUY.”
I’ll send you the link to schedule your 30 minute phone consultation.
We will start with your goals, your comfortable monthly payment, and the bigger picture.
