Did you know….. 70% of business owners want a generational business transfer? Did you know it only works out 30% of the time? Not necessarily because of trust issues from the older generation to the next.
Many times, it’s because the business owner is NOT READY. Have you considered the massive wealth locked in your business? For many business owners, it’s 80% of their total net worth.
What to ask is not only “how would the transition look?” OR “is the next generation ready?” The question might be “is the business owner ready?” Not just is the business ready or am I financially ready, but personally ready!
Many people need purpose. What is that purpose going to look like, besides showing up at the old shop, bugging the next generation, and complaining about all the changes they make? Real purpose!
Are the three legs of your stool in order? Have you De-Risked your business for a transition?
