MAKE IT AT HOME MONDAY
Growing up, my grandmother used dusting powder every single day.
She always smelled amazing. Not in an overpowering way, but in that soft, comforting way that makes you want to hug someone just a little longer. It was simply part of her routine, right alongside her perfume and favorite lotion.
Because of her, I’ve used dusting powder most of my life. So imagine my surprise when I started seeing it all over social media and realized so many people had never heard of it!
If you’ve never used it, think of it as the finishing touch to your self-care ritual. It leaves skin feeling soft, silky, fresh, and lightly scented. And if you live in the Central Valley, trust me…this little luxury is worth bringing back.
I also noticed many DIY recipes use ingredients that aren’t necessarily the best for your skin, so I wanted to share a simple version that’s effective, affordable, and made with just a few ingredients.
Of course, we’d love for you to use your favorite ‘Ike Loa Pulse Point Perfume to scent it, but that’s completely optional. The purpose of Make It At Home Monday is to share easy ideas that help you create small moments of self-care at home.
Apply it after your body oil, after a shower, before bed, or anytime you want to feel a little extra polished. Use a powder brush, a puff, or simply dust it wherever you’d like a silky-soft finish.
Some beauty rituals deserve to be passed down.
This is one of them.
The recipe is in the photos. Let me know if you’re already a dusting powder fan, or if this is your first introduction to one of my favorite old-fashioned beauty secrets.
