On April 18, 1775, Paul Revere made his famous ride to warn colonists of the British advance—an act that helped set in motion events leading to America's independence on July 4, 1776. Today, his home is preserved in Boston, Massachusetts as a reminder of that pivotal moment in history.
Bonus fact: The technical term for a 250-year anniversary is a semiquincentennial. As our nation's semiquincentennial approaches, it's worth reflecting on the people whose actions helped shape the future.
Paul Revere didn't wait for events to unfold around him. He took action. His ride helped ignite a proverbial powder keg of change that would alter the course of history.
While most of us won't have a moment quite that historic, the principle still applies: meaningful change often begins with a single decision to act.

Even in an unconventional environment, life can find a way to grow when the right ingredients come together.
Deep inside this cave, there was plenty of humidity, a constant light source for safety, and somehow a few seeds made their way in from the world above. The result was an unexpected sight—a fern growing underground.
While remarkable, the fern wasn't exactly thriving. It was surviving but not reaching its full potential.
