What a fun week it has been! While our players have been putting in hard work at practice, their amazing families and the NHS Cheerleaders have truly made a difference in our community. It warms our hearts to see all the red and black around town, and we are incredibly grateful for their time, effort, and support.
In addition to the signs around town, so much love has gone into feeding our players. One of the cherished traditions of the NHS Football Program is our team dinners during playoff week. These meals not only create lasting memories but also strengthen our bond as a team. Each evening starts with a prayer led by one of the players, followed by each class getting served, filled with shared conversations and laughter as we eat side by side. We cherish these evenings together and are thankful to everyone who makes them happen.
A special shoutout to those who helped sponsor our team dinners over the past two weeks:
- Nokomis Park District
- T&J Treats of Nokomis Dairy Queen
- Save-A-Lot of Pana
- Gianni’s Pizza of Hillsboro
Most importantly, we’d like to highlight the hard work of our players’ families and coaches’ families. Their dedication in preparing desserts, sides, drinks, and main dishes, along with sweeping floors, washing dishes, and mopping, has made our team dinners a huge success.
Our community has truly surrounded this team with love and support, and we are so appreciative. We’re excited to provide a team breakfast and tailgate together tomorrow before game time! We are so proud of our Redskins and can’t wait to see them take the field at 3 PM. For those unable to attend, you can still catch the action as WSMI will be covering the game! Let’s go, Redskins! 🏈❤️🖤
