Earlier today at approximately 11:00 AM, Car 1, Car 2, Rescue 315, Engine 314, and Utility-317 responded to a report of a tractor-trailer off the roadway on Interstate 84 Eastbound.
Upon arrival, crews discovered that one of the truck's diesel saddle tanks had ruptured during the collision. Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of our members, the leak was quickly isolated and contained before it could spread further into the environment.
Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the incident.
Working alongside the New York State Police, our crews cleared the scene and all units were back in service by 12:20 PM.
Thank you to our members for their swift action and to NYSP for the assistance on scene! 🚒💪

📸 Flashback/Throwback Tuesday 🚒

These remastered photos take us back to January 26, 2006.

The City of Newburgh Fire Department and Good-Will Fire Department were dispatched to a working structure fire just a few doors down from our own firehouse. Thanks to the quick response and seamless teamwork with several neighboring agencies, the fire was safely brought under control.

It’s always a privilege serving alongside our mutual aid partners. 🤝
