Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Manager – Virtual Accounting to join our team at Podium Advisory. In this role, you will leverage your strong accounting background and audit firm experience to deliver excellent service to our clients remotely. You will be responsible for month-end bookkeeping, financial appraisal for M&A deals, and supervisory responsibilities over teams, rather than daily task ex*****on. Additionally, you will play a key role in enhancing our reporting processes through advanced Excel automation techniques, including Power Query.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Bookkeeping & Reconciliations: Oversee the month-end bookkeeping process and perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
Advanced Excel Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models with advanced automation skills, including Pivot Tables and Power Query, to analyze data and support decision-making.
Financial Appraisal for M&A Deals: Apply financial appraisal techniques specifically designed for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), providing insights and analysis that support strategic decision-making.
Payroll Processing: Utilize your payroll processing skills to ensure accurate and efficient handling of payroll functions as needed.
Accounting Software Utilization: Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero to record transactions, manage ledgers, and produce comprehensive reports.
Team Supervision: Supervise and support accounting teams. You will be responsible for reviewing their work, providing feedback, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of financial data on a monthly basis.
Qualifications & Experience
Accounting Background: A solid foundation in accounting principles, preferably gained through experience at an audit firm in Pakistan.
Hands-on Experience: Proven experience in month-end closing processes, finalizing books of accounts, and performing payroll processing.
Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in advanced Excel, with a strong focus on financial modeling, automation, Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
M&A Appraisal Experience: Experience with financial appraisal techniques related to M&A deals is highly valued.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks and/or Xero (or similar platforms) is preferred.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
Continuous Learner: High degree of curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, methodologies, and industry best practices. An entrepreneurial mindset to drive process improvements and take initiative.
