Dark Day Players

Dark Day Players Dark Day Players is a group of theater artists who blend intuition and innovation in the creation and performance of theater. It's a win-win-win.

Dark Days consists of a trained group of improvisation artists who hope to blend intuition and performance. A dark day refers to the night when there is no performance in a theater during a show's run. Companies that rent out a theater to put up a show usually pay a weekly rate. Oftentimes their 'dark day' is wasted, the stage goes unused, and they pay for 7 days of space but only 6 days worth of

performances. The Dark Days Players have found a solution for how to fill that stage. By partnering with theater venues and companies, we are able to fully improvise a play on the stage during these nights. We cannot stress enough how sincere we are in regards to performance. Our shows are not 'improv comedy;' they are improvised theater. A percentage of our ticket sale will go back to the company renting out the space, thereby earning them some extra money even on a day they're not performing.
