BREAKING: SpaceX (SPCX) overtakes Meta Platforms (META) to become the world’s 9th-largest company as the stock surges more than 12%, adding over $180 billion in market value.

The stock surged sharply on Friday after posting its busiest trading day since June 18 on Thursday. More than 255 million shares changed hands, worth nearly $30 billion at Thursday’s closing price of $114.92.

The heavy trading followed the expiration of the first lockup tranche, which unlocked more than 911 million shares.
