It has been a minute since I have last posted, I thought I’d share some exciting news and give a bit of honesty into my absence.

My business was born from living in NYC, having a family, and trying to keep my sanity. I have been fortunate to support so many families within NYC by helping them create systems and peace during the chaotic time of raising little people. I am forever grateful for those NYC residents who have welcomed me into their homes.

One year ago, my family moved to Westchester County, NY. It has been the best thing for our family in every way I imagined. The one thing I didn’t anticipate is how hard it would be for me to mentally, emotionally, logistically, and physically commute to clients around the city. I tried to scale back boroughs that were easy to access, but I found it still too challenging.

I have closed out projects that have come to an end and will no longer take on any new clients in NYC. My focus and energy will be on Westchester, my new-ish home county.

If I have worked with you or you’ve followed me for some time, you might have heard me talk about my RESTART Method because I believe YOU get to decide when you hit the restart button on your organizing journey. Here is to hitting restart and beginning anew in Westchester County!

Though they don’t LOOK happy, I promise they were!

If you are new here, welcome! You may not know my story or how I started Organized from the Start, but my beautiful kids are my WHY. They made me a Mom and they inspired me to bring organization to other families. I wouldn’t be here now in either capacity if it wasn’t for them.

This was a perfect moment from my Mother’s Day: playing my favorite board game with my kids, listening to my favorite band (which I get to see tomorrow in NYC!!!), and having dinner prepared by my hubby.

To those who mother, who have mothered and who are hoping to mother soon, I hope you find YOUR perfect moment today.

🥼👚👗👖Let’s talk about hangers! 👖👗👚🥼

When you have everything on the same type of hanger, your closet will be immediately transformed!

Here are some other top tips…
- Edit first, ALWAYS!
- Categorize items and place like with like!
- Use an slim slip-proof hanger to get more into your closet that will STAY on the hanger!
- Consider the drop from the hook of the hanger AND the drop of the clips on pant/skirt hangers. You can lose value able inches in your closet and cause your items to unnecessarily wrinkle if you pick the wrong type of hanger.

Here is how to@make mornings easier…

Prepare the Night Before!
- Pack Snacks
- Fill Up Water Bottles
- Put Homework Inside Backpacks
- Load Fully Charged School-Related Tech
- Place Backpack Near Point of Entry

Some families also find it helpful to pick out clothes the night before and to pack lunches and keep entire lunchboxes in the fridge so they are ready to grab and go.

My biggest tip is to do as much as you can the night before and minimize morning tasks. This will reduce the stress your half-caffeinated self experiences in the AM when kids are far from bright-eyed and bushy tailed! 🐰

📣 Keep needed items VISIBLE and ACCESSIBLE 📣

By keeping children’s items at their height and easily retrievable, they can independently get ready. When they come home, they can independently put things away!

Take advantage of the interior side of a door and available vertical space for these frequently used items!

Much likes books, toys can be in rainbow order too! Do they need to be? No, but what is clear is the following…
1. They are VISIBLE.
2. They are ACCESSIBLE.
3. The system is SIMPLE.

When things are visible, accessible and simple, then a system can be easily maintained by adults & children alike! Use those three principles to guide your child’s toy storage!
