Alma Bank is pleased to announce that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire American Community Bank.

This combination will bring together two respected community banks united by a shared commitment to personal relationships, local decision-making and exceptional client service. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined bank is expected to have approximately $2.0 billion in total assets and 21 banking offices across New York and Northern New Jersey.

“Most importantly, this partnership is about investing in people, technology and the communities we are privileged to serve,” said Michael P. Psyllos, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alma Bank. “Clients will continue to receive the personal attention they value while gaining access to broader capabilities and resources.”

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to the receipt of all required regulatory, corporate and shareholder approvals and the satisfaction or waiver of other customary closing conditions. Until the transaction is completed, Alma Bank and American Community Bank will continue to operate independently, and clients should continue to conduct their banking activities as usual.

Alma Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Eugene Kim to First Vice President and Senior Underwriter.

Eugene brings more than 15 years of experience in community and regional banking. He has built a strong reputation as a disciplined and thoughtful credit professional. His background as a credit underwriter, loan officer and portfolio manager gives him a full understanding of the credit lifecycle. He delivers timely and practical solutions that support both clients and lending teams while operating within the Bank’s risk framework.

In his expanded role, Eugene will continue to focus on C&I and owner-occupied lending. He plays an important role in advancing the Bank’s commercial strategy and growing the C&I lending portfolio.

Eugene is bilingual in Korean and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Stony Brook University.

Greg brings more than four decades of experience across the banking and financial services industry, spanning community, regional, and large national institutions throughout the New York metropolitan area. He also spent 12 years at MetLife as a licensed banker and national sales manager.

He is a client-focused leader with a strong track record in sales leadership, strategic initiatives, advisory board development, and the expansion of diversified product and revenue channels. His ability to align strategy with ex*****on will support Alma Bank’s continued growth as a full-service financial institution serving both business and consumer clients.

Greg attended Old Dominion University and Wesley College. He is active in the community and proudly served as an Airman in the U.S. Navy.
