CUNYfirst stands for Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool and for CUNY it means a massive upgrade in how we'll do things in the future. New CUNYfirst processes in Student Administration, Human Resources and Finance will change how we do everything from registering for classes to paying our bills. CUNYfirst applications will replace aging legacy systems like SIMS, e-SIMS and CUPS and help u

s streamline and standardize many of the things we do at Hostos. Students will be able to sign up for courses just like they would go online with Amazon – put the classes they think they want in a shopping cart, then click once to confirm. CUNYfirst will register students, give them a bill for classes and fees, apply for financial aid and allow them to interact with their professors and advisers. For faculty, it will be a communication link to students, allow them to view their class rosters and post grades. For our staff, it will provide a wealth of information about the classes we offer and information on the students who take them. Everyone who uses the system will get trained to use it. Some will learn in a classroom setting, some will learn at a seminar and some will learn by going online

CUNY is upgrading the identity management system (IMS) that grants users access to CUNYfirst, CUNYsmart and the Virtual Bookstore via their CUNYfirst login credentials (CUNYfirst username and password). This IMS upgrade is required to remain current with CUNY software maintenance and release plans.

The upgrade start and end time are as follows:
START: 10 pm on Friday, January 6, 2017
END: 6 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017

During the IMS upgrade, there will be a cutover to the new IMS version that will briefly interrupt access to any active CUNYfirst, CUNYsmart or Virtual Bookstore application. Following this cutover, users may have to log back in to application(s) that were active at the time of cutover.

CUNYfirst is currently experiencing an issue with "Forgot Your Password", "Change Password" and "New User" access features.

Users are still able to sign in to CUNYfirst. CIS is looking into the issue. We appreciate your patience during this time.

CUNYfirst will be unavailable from 5:00 PM on Friday, April 15, until 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 17 for launches of Financial Aid WAVE 4b and Campus Solutions.

On Thursday, April 14, 2016 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M., CIS will be performing maintenance on the IMS servers. Please note that IMS self service will be unavailable during this time; you will not be able to use forgot password, change password or account claiming. You will still be able to access CUNYfirst.

The CUNYfirst System will be unavailable tonight from 9PM to 1AM for month end activities. Students will still be able to make payments and will have access to add/drop functions through the Self Service. We thank you for your patience during this maintenance.
