Volatility and risk are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

Market fluctuations can create uncertainty, but the bigger question is whether your financial plan is positioned to support your long-term goals.

A portfolio that becomes too conservative may reduce short-term volatility, but it can introduce a different risk: not having enough growth to support retirement, inflation, and future needs.

The goal isn’t to eliminate volatility. It’s to build a plan designed to navigate it.

Don’t miss the latest article from Park Avenue Capital, written by Michael Scordo, exploring why understanding the difference between volatility and risk is critical to long-term financial success.

The financial plans that fail are rarely missing investments. They're missing questions.

Most high-net-worth clients have accumulated wealth thoughtfully. But accumulation and protection are two different disciplines, and the gap between them is where blind spots live.

In this video, Associate Wealth Management Advisor Michael Scordo walks through how structured financial planning surfaces the risks that even well-prepared portfolios carry quietly:

→ Concentration you didn't realize you had
→ Tax exposure that compounds before you act on it
→ Coverage gaps that only appear when it's too late to close them
→ Income assumptions that haven't been stress tested against real retirement costs

The goal isn't to find problems. It's to remove uncertainty — so your plan can do exactly what it was built to do.

Healthcare in retirement can become one of your largest expenses and many people don’t see it coming.

Most retirement plans focus on income, investments, taxes, and estate planning. Healthcare is often treated as an estimate or an afterthought… that’s where the gap begins.

Estimating and preparing for healthcare costs has many layers. It’s a mix of expenses that can change over time, Medicare premiums, out-of-pocket costs, prescription coverage gaps, and potential long-term care needs just to name a few. An individual’s income level can impact Medicare premiums, too, which can catch many retirees by surprise.

Our recent article aims to educate on this potential retirement planning pitfall. You can read it here: http://spr.ly/6184B1DeuG

Check out our latest Forbes feature from Peter Tiboris, created in partnership with our Director of Financial Planning, Andrew Manganelli.

In this article, we discuss our approach to addressing concentrated stock positions.

When a single holding represents a significant portion of someone’s wealth, the conversation often starts with: “What about the taxes?”

That question matters.

However, while the tax consequences of selling can feel painful, the more important question is: How much risk is this concentrated position creating for your overall financial plan?

This is where thoughtful financial planning can really help.

Medicare is not a single solution.

As retirement approaches, many people assume Medicare will cover everything, but understanding the differences between Original Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage, and prescription coverage is an important part of building a complete retirement plan.

Each option comes with different costs, coverage considerations, and tradeoffs.

Lower premiums may come with network restrictions. More flexibility may come with additional costs. The right choice depends on your health needs, financial situation, and long-term goals.

Healthcare decisions are retirement decisions.

We're proud of our Co-Founder and Wealth Management Advisor, Ben Feldman, for leading an insightful panel discussion at Northwestern Mutual's Annual Meeting this July.

Ben sat down with fellow advisors Raul Tavdy and Scott Sparks to explore what it truly means to be a great financial advisor. Through their experiences and perspectives, one message stood out above all:

Great advisors always put their clients first.

By listening deeply, uncovering what matters most, and acting in their clients' best interests, advisors have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of those they serve.

Thank you to Raul and Scott for sharing their wisdom and leadership with the advisor community.

Most professionals don't struggle because they lack information. They struggle because life gets busy.

Long hours, travel, client meetings, family commitments, and unpredictable schedules make it difficult to stay consistent with health and fitness goals, even when you know what you should be doing.

That's why we are excited to host our clients to an exclusive webinar with Andrew Kusovschi, Founder of Level Up Body. Andrew has helped more than 600 professionals create sustainable systems that improve their energy, focus, and overall health without extreme dieting or time-consuming workouts.

During this session, Andrew will share:
✅ How to look, feel, and perform like you did 10 years ago—even with a demanding schedule
✅ Why most high achievers struggle to stay consistent with health goals
✅ Practical strategies to improve energy, focus, and performance without burnout
✅ Simple systems that can fit into real life and busy careers

We are excited to this conversation happening August 26th!
