Fun Fact Friday!

The first song ever played on Mars was “Happy Birthday.” To celebrate Curiosity’s first anniversary on the planet, NASA engineers programmed the rover’s Sample Analysis at Mars instrument to vibrate at different frequencies and “sing” the tune across the Martian surface. A pretty incredible milestone for science, technology, and human curiosity. 🚀

Betsy Bigler, MSN, RN, President/COO of Northwind Health Company, reflects on a year of personal and professional growth leading a long-term strategic partnership to improve member benefits. The project brought together new networks, technology, member experience, and integrated partnerships to create a cohesive ecosystem members can engage with. The complexity of the work also strengthened her Lean Six Sigma skills and pushed her continued professional growth.

With a nursing background, Betsy shares she never expected to be leading technology work in complex eligibility systems, but has learned to keep saying “yes” to new opportunities. She focuses on using her experience to bring clarity to complexity while keeping the member and patient at the center, and reflects on the shift from helping one patient at a time to impacting thousands.
