OPEN Finance OPEN Finance is a voluntary organization of LGBT employee networking group leaders at financial services firms.

Founded in 2009, OPEN Finance is a volunteer network that combines the expertise of our member firm's employee resource groups to drive forward LGBT equality and diversity. Meeting on a monthly basis, OPEN Finance members share best practices on building membership, engaging senior management and straight allies, promoting inclusive work environments, and coordinating events and philanthropic activities.

This past Wednesday, in honor of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), UBS and OPEN Finance Speaker Series hosted a marquee event at UBS’s Eleven Madison Office.

Jake Scrivens, Global Head of Litigation and Executive Sponsor of the Global LGBTQ+ Ally Program at UBS, moderated a conversation with the renowned author and founder of podcast “Making Gay History” podcast, Eric Marcus .

This podcast aims to bring LGBTQ+ history to life through the voices of the trailblazers who have lived through it. Make sure to give it a listen!!

OPEN Finance members proudly attended the Open for Business Coalition Forum on September 24th in New York during the UN General Assembly. The successful event, hosted by American Express, brought together leaders from various sectors to discuss LGBTQIA+ inclusion in business.

The forum featured a compelling keynote address by Jessica Stern, the United States Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons, who emphasized the crucial role of businesses in advancing global LGBTQ+ equality.

Open for Business shared insights on their upcoming research and programs, with a focus on emerging trends in LGBTQ+ inclusion across Southeast Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and East Africa. The event culminated in an engaging panel discussion on supporting the LGBTQ+ community in challenging geographic contexts.

Notable speakers included Emma Codd from Deloitte, T.K. Nkwe from Standard Chartered, and Violeta Dudova from JPMorgan Chase, who shared valuable perspectives on driving LGBTQ+ inclusion through business initiatives. The forum provided an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration among coalition members, reinforcing the collective commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ rights globally.
