A lot of times we are told to pay off our credit cards and close the account. However, did you know closing an account on a credit line that has been open for a long time REMOVES your credit history from your report. In results, lowers your score 😫😫

It’s recommended to have at least 1 installment account such as a car loan, student loan etc and 3 revolving credit cards (ie: retail store cards).

However, having these accounts on your credit is useless if your credit utlization is high.

The goal is to keep the balances as low as possible! It’s best to keep your balance lower than 30% of your available credit.

For an example, if your credit limit is $1,000 your balance should be around $300 or less.
