Medici Land Governance (MLG), a U.S. company, is providing land titling to Zambians as a form of economic empowerment. Partnering closely with Zambia’s Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources, MLG uses cutting-edge satellite and drone technology for precise mapping.

The company has invested $4 million (80 million kwacha) directly into the Zambian economy, and has created employment opportunities for 194 Zambians, a majority of whom are women.

What makes MLG what it is? Land Governance is an ever increasing challenge for government. As population grows and migrations nationally and internationally occurs, all the moving parts relating to land, including cadasters, tax collection, land security etc. creates an exponential workload for the administration. In today’s world, land administration tools are continuously adapting to these challenging situations and are capable of making of making workflows smoother and more efficient. MLG’s role for all of this is to make sure that proper land technology is being used for for their specific cases. Working with technology should be easy and should make the work easier. MLG is removing the fear from separating from traditional work methods and creating the new norm for land governance and their technologies.
