B&B Insurance: Built on Family, Rooted in Community ❤
From humble beginnings in 2008 to serving clients across multiple states, B&B Insurance has always been about more than just insurance. It’s about family, relationships, and the communities we call home.
In 2008, brothers Don and Jeff Bolier, alongside their wives, Natalie and Misty, took a leap of faith and started B&B Insurance from the ground up. With no existing book of business, they set out to build something of their own. Eighteen years later, that dream has grown into a thriving, 9-time SIAA award-winning independent insurance agency serving clients throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and more.
But the story of B&B Insurance begins long before its doors first opened.
Local Roots
Don and Jeff spent their teenage years growing up in the small Northwoods community of Butternut, WI. Their dad, Steve, served as an EMT for Flambeau Medical Center in Park Falls while also owning and operating Northwoods Reflections Art Gallery and Frame Shop, while their mom, Judy, dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse anesthetist at Flambeau Medical Center. Together, they instilled in them the importance of hard work, family, and giving back to their community.
Life eventually took the brothers in different directions. Don and Natalie were living in California, while Jeff and Misty had settled in West Bend, WI. Losing both of their parents at a young age, Don and Jeff felt a strong pull to return to their roots. They wanted to bring their families back together to the place they had once called home.
But returning to Butternut, WI brought an important question: What would they do next?
Remembering their parents’ commitment to their community, the brothers knew they wanted to create something that would allow them to make a meaningful difference.
Through a friendship with someone who owned an independent insurance agency, an idea began to take shape. After careful consideration and plenty of research, the Bolier family decided to take a chance on the insurance industry.
Their vision was simple: Build an agency where people come first, relationships matter, and customer service means more than making a sale. With years of extensive customer service experience between the four of them, they had the knowledge, passion, and dedication to turn that vision into reality.
And with that, B&B Insurance was born – opening the first office in Park Falls, WI.
Early Beginnings
The small, family-owned agency in Park Falls, WI, quickly gained momentum. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to treating clients like family, B&B Insurance began building a reputation rooted in trust and top-notch customer service.
The Bolier’s entrepreneurial spirit didn’t stop with insurance. Over the years, they also opened Lucky 13 Powersports and Performance Automotive in Park Falls, WI. While these businesses brought new opportunities and experiences, their passion continued to lead them back to insurance. Eventually, they made the decision to sell their other businesses and focus on growing B&B Insurance.
As the agency continued to expand, so did its reach.
New Growth
Prior to living in Butternut, WI, Don and Jeff spent their younger years growing up in Roberts, WI, and they maintained relationships with friends and families from that area. B&B Insurance was already insuring many customers from that area due to this and so the Boliers recognized an opportunity to better serve the community there. In November of 2017, B&B Insurance proudly opened its New Richmond, WI, office.
But if you know the Bolier family, you know one thing for certain: They don’t sit still for long!
Their drive to grow and help more people continued. In the years that followed, B&B Insurance expanded into Hastings, MN, acquired another independent insurance agency, and developed valuable connections during their stays down south in Alabama.
Employee Dedication
Of course, none of this growth would be possible without the dedicated employees they call family who help bring B&B’s mission to life every day alongside the owners.
As the agency expanded, so did the B&B family.
Our current team consists of Blake Kontny who joined the family in 2015, followed by Don and Natalie’s daughter, Michelle Hoppe, in 2018, and their son, Chris Hoppe, in 2020. The team continued growing with the addition of Mark Howard, Tasha Kontny, and Mason Bruce in 2025, followed by its newest member, Josie K***z, in 2026.
Each member of the team plays an important role in carrying forward the values on which B&B Insurance was founded.
Moving Forward
What began as two brothers and their wives wanting to bring their families home and build something meaningful has become a business built on lasting relationships, community involvement, and a genuine desire to help protect others.
The Bolier family understands the importance of supporting the communities that support them. Whether it’s helping a family protect their first home, guiding a business owner through their insurance needs, or giving back to local organizations and events, B&B strives to make a positive difference both inside and outside the office. B&B has a passion for making sure what matters most to you is protected in the very best way possible.
Eighteen years, multiple locations, 5+ states, and countless relationships later, B&B Insurance is still guided by the same values that started it all: family, community, and putting people first. They also would not be where they are today without the trust and loyalty of all the customers, who they refer to as the “B&B Insurance Family”.
And the best part? The B&B story is still being written. ❤
