Tip Tuesdays: My family and friends accidental or group life insurance coverage through your job is not properly protecting your family.
Knowing the difference and having something you own on your own is taking control out of their hands to cancel or not honor it. Put you in control by owning your own.
Yes it’s great to get that coverage while you’re employed because it’s usually cheap or free! But it’s a bad plan if you are dependent solely on that coverage to take care of your family in the event tragedy hits!
#1 Accidental coverage is exactly what it sounds like
ACCIDENT…..These are not considered accidents... Death from natural causes might be a heart attack, stroke, cancer, infection, or any other illness...these are not accidents so don’t bank on a claim being paid!
#2 Imagine getting sick while on the job having to quit or get laid off then life happens! Yep, you guessed it there will be no claim paid out to your family...SPECIFICALLY Deaths from INSTANT car crashes, slips, falling down stairs, choking, drowning, machinery, and any other situations that can’t be controlled are deemed ACCIDENTAL!
#3 Not to mention once you leave your job due to health or being laid off you might be considered uninsurable for private insurance depending on the diagnosis, so don’t wait or be forced into life insurance get it while you’re healthy and at your youngest to get the best available prices and max coverage!
Ownership is the key to securing your families financial future
