🚲 I never learned how to ride a bike.

🚗 I didn't get my driver's license until I was 25.

👂 I have permanent hearing loss in my right ear after surviving meningitis as an infant.

Six years ago today, Firefly Bookkeeping, (formally Firefly Books) was born.

We didn't start with investors, a business loan, or even money in the bank. We started with zero dollars to our name, a Google Maps search, and a willingness to work.

In that first quarter of business, I called more than 500 businesses.

Some never answered.
Some said no.
Some hung up before I could finish introducing myself.
But a few gave us a chance.

Those first clients became the foundation of what is now Firefly Bookkeeping.

Over the last six years, we've celebrated our clients' successes and walked with them through difficult seasons. We've weathered scams, economic uncertainty, changing regulations, rebranding, a cross country military move, and all of the unexpected challenges that come with running a small business.

Through it all, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to serving small business owners with honesty, integrity, and care.

Looking back, I'm reminded that every established business has a beginning. Ours wasn't glamorous. It was built one phone call, one relationship, and one client at a time.

To every client who has trusted Firefly over the last six years, thank you. You have allowed a dream that started with nothing more than determination and faith to become a business that continues to serve entrepreneurs every day.
