I read an article today about how a lot of business owners think they have a money problem… when really they have a bookkeeping problem.

And honestly, I see this more than people realize.

A lot of business owners are working hard, making sales, staying busy — but still feeling stressed every month because they don’t really have a clear picture of their numbers.

When bookkeeping keeps getting pushed to the side, everything starts feeling reactive: • wondering what’s actually left over

• guessing what taxes will look like
• avoiding the books altogether 😅
• constantly feeling behind
Good bookkeeping won’t fix every business problem overnight…

But it does give you clarity.

And when you finally have clarity, you can make decisions with a lot more confidence and a lot less stress.

That’s one of my favorite parts about helping small business owners 🤍

The IRS reporting threshold for many Form 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC payments is increasing from $600 to $2,000 for payments made in 2026 and filed in 2027.

Key reminders:
✔️ Higher reporting threshold
✔️ Inflation indexing begins in 2027
✔️ E-file requirement still applies for 10+ aggregate returns
✔️ Due dates remain important for compliance

If you pay independent contractors, landlords, attorneys, or other vendors, now is the time to review your bookkeeping and vendor records before year-end.

Always review the final IRS instructions or consult your tax professional before filing.

Earth Day looks a little different when you run a business.

It is not just about the ground outside
it is about what you are building every day

Because businesses grow the same way anything else does
with care
with consistency
and with attention to what is being planted

The small decisions
the habits
the way you handle your money
the way you steward what has been given to you

It all adds up

Sometimes we think of bookkeeping as numbers on a page
but it is more than that

It is stewardship
