Here’s a Medicare enrollment period that often gets confused with Annual Enrollment.
Your federal Medigap Open Enrollment Period lasts six months. It begins the first month you’re both:
🔹 Age 65 or older
🔹 Enrolled in Medicare Part B
During this one-time window, you can generally purchase any Medigap/Supplement policy sold in your state without being denied because of your health history.
This is different from Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period—and it doesn’t repeat every fall.
Timing matters, so it’s worth understanding your options before your six-month window begins.
