šŸŽ¾šŸ’™šŸ’› **TWO FRESHMEN. ONE REMARKABLE SEASON. A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR LADY BOMBER TENNIS!**

Some athletes spend their high school careers chasing championships. **Nicola Talbot and Berkley Decker** decided to start chasing them in their very first season!

These Mountain Home Lady Bomber doubles partners have put together a freshman campaign worth celebrating:

šŸ† **5A West Team Conference Champions** — the program's first in five years!

šŸ’Ŗ **Undefeated conference regular season** as part of the Lady Bomber team!

🄈 **Conference Doubles Runners-Up**

🄈 **5A State Doubles Runners-Up**

šŸŽ¾ **Invited to the Overall State Tournament in Little Rock!**

šŸ“š **Both maintain perfect 4.0 GPAs!**

Nicola, daughter of Grant and Soria Talbot, and Berkley, daughter of Daniel and Christina Decker, are proving that you don't have to be an upperclassman to make a championship-sized impact.

Their talent is impressive. Their determination is inspiring. And the best part? **They still have three more years to wear the Blue and Gold!**

šŸ‘ **Bomber Nation, help us congratulate Nicola and Berkley on being named our Athletes of the Week!** Drop a šŸ’™šŸ’› in the comments to show these young ladies some love!

Athlete of the Week: Gus Wilber – The Kind of Player Who Makes Everyone Better

Football has a way of revealing character. Sometimes it comes through a spectacular play, sometimes through an extraordinary effort, and occasionally through a young man whose influence reaches well beyond the scoreboard.
For the Mountain Home Bombers, Gus Wilber has become that kind of player.

The senior delivered an outstanding performance on both sides of the football, leading the Bombers in receiving with three catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Not content to leave his mark on offense alone, Wilber added an interception and a pass breakup on defense, demonstrating the versatility and instincts that make him such a valuable presence on the field.

But perhaps the most telling tribute to Wilber comes not from the statistics, but from his coach, who simply remarked, ā€œIt makes my day better every time I get to see Gus Wilber.ā€ In a sport that measures so much in yards, touchdowns, and victories, that may be the highest compliment of all.

The son of Stephen and Cheryl Wilber, Gus maintains an impressive 4.23 GPA and is active in FCA, 10 Fourteen, Youth Alive, and National Honor Society. He also competes in track and remains dedicated to his faith.

Great players make great plays. Exceptional young people leave a lasting impression. Gus Wilber is proving that the two can go hand in hand.

Athlete of the Week: Cody Cormican – A Championship Round, and a Legacy of Winning

Golf is a game that asks a player to remain composed when every stroke matters. And with a conference championship on the line, Cody Cormican delivered exactly the kind of round his team needed.

The Mountain Home senior fired an even-par 72 at Big Creek Country Club, helping lead the Bombers to the 5A West Conference Championship. It was another impressive performance in a high school career that has been defined by winning—Cormican has helped this senior class capture three conference championships in the past four years.

But his success extends well beyond the golf course. The son of Terry and Stephanie Cormican, Cody maintains a 4.0 GPA, competes for the Bomber basketball team, and is an ASGA Junior member. His coaches point to a tremendous work ethic that is evident whether he is carrying a golf bag, stepping onto the basketball floor, or sitting in the classroom.

One round can win a tournament. Sustained excellence can help define a program. Over four years, Cody Cormican has contributed plenty of both.

Athlete of the Week: Simeon Costner – A Young Runner Finding His Stride

Cross country has a simple measure of success: the course, the clock, and the runners beside you. And in just his second season with the Mountain Home Bombers, Simeon Costner is quickly establishing himself as one of the program’s standout competitors.

The sophomore put together an impressive stretch, winning the Harding race on September 12 before following it with a second-place finish at the Clint Pevril Invitational on September 17. Two races, two trips near the top of the field—and further evidence of just how far Costner has come in a relatively short time.

The son of Julie and David Costner, Simeon carries a 4.0 GPA while competing in both cross country and track.

Distance running rewards patience, discipline, and the willingness to keep pushing when the miles become difficult. Only a sophomore, Simeon Costner is already demonstrating all three—and his story as a Bomber runner is just beginning.

Athlete of the Week: Molly Wright – Consistency at the Top

Golf has a way of exposing both patience and precision. There are no shortcuts, and there is nowhere to hide from the scorecard.

For Molly, the results have spoken clearly.

The Mountain Home sophomore has been the medalist in each of the Lady Bombers’ last three matches, a run that reflects not just talent, but the consistency and composure required to perform well time after time.

That same standard carries into the classroom. Wright maintains a 4.0 GPA and currently ranks first in her class of 314 students. She is also active in French Club and FCA, while participating in band and archery.

The daughter of Josh and Meredith Wright, Molly has already established herself as one of the Lady Bombers’ most dependable performers.

In golf, one great round can be memorable. Three straight medalist finishes begin to tell a larger story.
