Here's a tip that could save you hundreds every year.

Medicare covers a wide range of preventive services at no cost to you - including annual wellness visits, certain cancer
screenings, flu shots, cardiovascular screenings, and more.

Taking advantage of these free services isn't just about saving money - it's about catching potential health issues early
when they're easier and less expensive to treat.

Medicare can feel confusing – but it doesn't have to be. Let's start with the basics.

Stay tuned this month as we break down each part of Medicare, share tips to save money, and show you how Benefits Bridge can help.

Original Medicare doesn’t cover routine vision or dental care — but you do have options.

Many people choose stand-alone plans or Medicare Advantage plans that include these benefits.

If you’re unsure what you need, I can help you compare your choices based on your needs and preferences.

Medicare has several enrollment periods — and knowing which one applies to you can save you stress (and sometimes money).

The big ones are:
• IEP – Initial Enrollment Period
• SEP – Special Enrollment Period
• AEP – Annual Enrollment Period
• OEP – Open Enrollment Period

Each one serves a different purpose, and which one you fall into depends on your age, your coverage, and your life situation.

If you’re unsure which enrollment period applies to you, that’s completely normal.
Talking with a local, independent broker is one of the easiest ways to get clear, personalized guidance so you don’t miss a window or pay more than you need to.

Most people enroll during the 7‑month window around their 65th birthday (3 months before, the month of, and 3 months after) — with a few exceptions, of course. If you’re not sure which rules apply to you, I’m always here to help you sort it out stress‑free.

Asked & Answered
Not everyone has to enroll in Medicare right at 65 — it truly depends on your situation.

If you’re still working and covered by an employer plan (or your spouse’s), you may be able to delay Part B and Part D without a penalty. But here’s the part many people don’t realize: sometimes it’s actually cheaper to take Medicare at 65, especially if your employer coverage has high premiums or deductibles. Running the numbers can make a big difference.

There are also special situations — like Veterans with TRICARE or other unique coverage — where the rules work differently. Even if you’re not sure which category you fall into, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you’re turning 65 or otherwise eligible for Medicare soon, I’m happy to review your coverage, compare costs, and help you decide what makes the most sense for your situation.
