Don’t forget - we offer scholarships to those looking to become Home Health Aids and Certified Nursing Assistants. We ALSO offer financial assistance for those looking for some temporary help in the home!

WE CAN GET YOU HELP AT HOME!!

We all know our foundation gives away scholarships to those seeking jobs in the healthcare field - (we partner with three healthcare institutions in New Jersey where folks are able to get nursing aid and home health aid licenses)

But did you also know that we offer financial assistance to FAMILIES who need this sort of help at home??

Sometimes families need help.
That might mean help at home after a loved one is discharged from a rehab center (more help could make for a smoother transition)
That might mean an extra set of hands AT the rehab center (some of us need a little more attention!)
Or that could mean a temporary caregiver at home so the usual caregivers can have a break (burnout is real!)

Regardless of your circumstance, the Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation is proud to offer financial coverage for extra aids at home or in a nursing center. It’s our pleasure and honor to help families and their loved ones get the best care possible, without the financial burden one-on-one care costs.

The aged population in this country is growing.

The boomers are aging out of the workforce.
People are living longer.
The percentage of Americans with dementia and related diseases is increasing.
More care is needed, yet we are experiencing a nursing and nursing aid shortage !!

We want to help solve this problem. It is our mission at the Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation to give scholarships to those looking to become Home Health Aids and Certified Nursing Assistants.
We currently parter with three healthcare institutes in New Jersey: Berkel Training Institute, E&S Academy, and Prestige Medical Solutions.
Did you know becoming a nursing assistant is how many nurses get their start?? It is the stepping stone for many to eventually become LPNs and RNs.

They deserve our praise and appreciation everyday, but especially this week. Whether it’s help in the home, a hospital stay, or perhaps during rehabilitation, we all know or have had experience with a CNA. You know how hard working they are, how caring and patient. They deserve all the thanks in the world!

Our Board of Directors are excited and working hard to plan GMA’s third fundraising event!

Since its founding in September of 2020, the Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation has proudly given scholarships to 10 Home Health Aids (HHA) and 12 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The scholarships cover the cost of the course, the state board exam, and the any books or literature needed. Nothing is in their way!

With the aging population growing everyday in the US, more staff is needed to help care for them. Our mission is to help alleviate the CNA and HHA shortage by partnering with nursing schools to help support those who want to take the course! But we can’t do it alone.

Join us on Sunday July 14th at 12pm at Monmouth Park Racetrack for racing, a silent auction, food and drinks! Individual tickets as well as sponsorship opportunities are available through the link in our bio.

It's that time of year again!

The Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation is hosting a fundraiser Sunday July 14 to help reduce the shortage of certified nurses aides in New Jersey!

If you or anyone you know has been in a skilled nursing facility, whether to live or simply for rehabilitation, you can speak first hand to the hardworking and kind hearted nature of these staff members. You may also feel that there aren't enough! We have made it our mission to give those with a passion of working with the elderly an opportunity to get their state certification.

Join us for a day of racing, a silent auction, food, drinks and more!

Since it’s inception in 2019, the Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation has been able to provide 15 scholarships to those looking to become Certified Home Health Aids and Certified Nurses Aids. Inspired by the nursing aid shortage in New Jersey and our own families, we saw an opportunity to help the aging population all over the state. It was estimated that more than 7 million Americans 65 and older were diagnosed with some form of dementia or dementia related illness in 2020, and that number is expected to grow in the coming years. At GMAHCF, we rely on generous donations and fundraising to provide these scholarships, and so we ask on this if you could consider supporting our cause. Maybe you know someone who has a caregiver, maybe someone in a nursing facility or at home. We do as much as we can for our loved ones, but we KNOW it is hard work!

We are happy to announce that the Greater Mercer Area Healthcare Foundation had another successful fundraising event. This year, we set sail aboard The Navesink Queen, chartered through Classic Boat Rides Cruising Charters for a sunset dinner cruise, catered by Brennan's Delicatessen of Rumson LLC. Aside from a gorgeous sunset and delicious food, our guests had the opportunity to bid on the many items in our extensive silent auction. We wanted to give a special Thank You to our sponsors: The Hennessy Foundation, Executive Resources, Caring with Compassion, Tiger's Tale, and Edward Sauce. Your generous support will continue to help us to provide Certified Nursing and Home Health Aid Scholarships to those needing tuition assistance. And as always, we appreciate those who donated to our silent auction and to Tina Settembrino Fields for continuing to create such beautiful memories through her photography.
