The city of Molalla, working in partnership with the Ford Family Foundation, is in the early stages of developing a community vision and then deciding what is necessary to carry it out. The second meeting was held last Wednesday evening to discuss the results of the first community survey. The next step is to gather survey input from a broader range of community members.

From tfff.org: "Long-term, comprehensive and inclusive community visioning and planning is seen as best practice in the field of community building. It unites all the smaller efforts, synthesizes them into a coherent, compelling and comprehensive whole and builds in processes for successful implementation. It is a process that has been done well in many rural towns in the Pacific Northwest."

We can't say enough about the wonderful generosity of the Lumber Jack Grill's owner and staff during the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Bear Creek Byway. From the wonderful appetizers you provided, to your flexibility in allowing us to fill up your space, our event was a success because of you!

Remember: support the businesses that support our community. If you have not been to the new Lumber Jack Grill and the Tap House, make a plan to do so. The food, the drinks, the staff, and the owner are amazing!

A beautiful, commemorative plaque has been ordered for the Bear Creek Byway sign. It will list all of the donors who provided $500 or more in cash, goods, and services to the project.

We are waiting to hear from the City of Molalla as to when the asphalt paving of the path will be scheduled. We expect to have it completed by the end of the year.

Molalla Community Builders would, once again, like to thank everyone for their continued support of our project! We are thrilled to see our vision become a reality and to be able to provide a safer walking/biking trail for our community.

Stay tuned.....
