If you're in the Real Estate industry... This is one of the best takes I've read on the current situation with rates and what's going on today. On October 5th the BLS labor report came out with an unexpected 254,000 job creations... when expectations were for 140,000 (but... they always quietly revise that figure down). It made the economy appear much stronger. Which sparked fears that the FED wouldn't cut as much, as many times or as fast. May lenders priced cuts in to their rates already... This is part of why rates are increasing today. Mortgage Backed Securities is the "bond market" he refers to. From Hammer Helmer:
