This is a result of the claim waive after 2017 hurricane irma and the inability for insurance agents to place business some where else other than Citizens insurance company. As a last resort insurance company, Citizens should have much higher premiums allowing for a competitive market between the private carriers and then Citizens would be reduced in volume and more financially stable.

Citizens Property Insurance has reportedly denied 77 percent of insurance claims relating to Hurricane Debby.
