launches their website to the public.
Miami Art Resources is an art production and event service organization
based in South Florida. Four companies created the organization to promote
their respective businesses, each relating to some facet of art and event production
services. The purpose of the joint
venture was to market and promote their services collectively and, in the
process, not break the bank. (Banks are doing a better job of this on their
own!) The following article explains how Miami Art Resources did it and how you

Share Costs
By pooling resources and
splitting labor and expenses four ways, the founding companies of Miami Art
Resources were each able to pay 25% of the total cost and time they would have
spent on their own individual marketing and promotion efforts. No one company on its own would have
considered creating a brand new website and investing in print and online advertising
in this slow economy. But joining forces,
it made sense! For the launch, each company
spent under $500 each for a new website, e-blast, and a 1/2 page advertisement
in ArtCircuits, an internationally distributed art guide. www.artcircuits.com.
Pooling Contacts &
Utilizing Social Media
Each of the four founding companies
had their own unique professional relationships and databases of business contacts.
By combining their respective databases, they had over seven thousand targeted,
qualified business contacts for email promotion. They told their friends on Facebook about
Miami Art Resources and their friends told their
friends and so on. They also “tweeted” on Twitter and ‘linked’ up on LinkedIn. A video on YouTube will follow. How much did

One member excels at writing
and had great relationships with designers.
This helped get the Miami Art Resources website off the ground. Another member took on the role of Miami Art

where we are going with this.
So the moral of the Miami Art
Resources story is, marketing and promoting yourself and your business in a bad
