Sometimes the right person shows up exactly when everything's
going wrong.
Thursday at 4pm — the day before a holiday weekend — my VW broke
down. Water pump, serpentine belt, and a broken coolant fitting
that turned out to be proprietary, only available from VW directly.
The kind of breakdown that ends with a tow truck, a four-day wait
