The story is not yet over. I still don't think that Ed Sherran copied the song song but was inspired by it. I think there are similiarities to the chords and the count. But over all it is a very different song in its own right. Theres only so much things you can do with 4 chords on the guitar. The song overall was driven especially by base chords D B G A. Even before Marvin Gaye Sang the song. There were songs like this already being played. If ever this lawsuit goes through and win. Ed Townsend(the songwriter who filed the lawsuit) will open up his own lawsuits for copyright infringement from the chords from the following songs below. Thoughts?
